DESCRIPTION:KIDSTOCK MUSIC CAMPCommon Chord’s Kidstock Summer Music Camp let’s kids be rock stars! \nThe camps gives young musicians\, ages 8-18\, the opportunity to participate in workshops lead by professional musicians\, form a band with fellow campers\, and put on a performance in Common Chord’s Redstone Room for their friends and family. \nStudents learn valuable life skills such as teamwork\, confidence\, and self-expression – all while doing something they love. \nIt’s recomended that participants have some beginner understanding of their instrument before attending. A concert celebrating the contributions of Black musicians and highlighting Black voices in our local music scene and beyond. \nNew this year: Rhythm on the River is joining forces with the Quad City Juneteenth Festival (led by Friends of MLK and The Lincoln Center) for a day of celebration\,  music\, and community in Leclaire Park! \nJUNE 15\, 2024QC Juneteenth Festival: 11am-4pmRhythm on the River concert: 6pm \nAdmission is FREE! Additional 10’x10′ “picnic plots” available for reservation in the area closest to the stage – $25. Picnic plots will be marked in the grass. Visit the Common Chord table at check-in to be directed to your reserved picnic plot. Must be purchased by June 14 at 5:00pm. Proceeds from picnic plots support after-school enrichment programs at The Lincoln Center. \n*FREE Family-friendly event*Food trucks will be on-site.*You may bring your own food and drinks. Whether it’s through a Night of Worship\, her business\, or everyday life\, Ashley is leaning into this path of refuge both for others and for herself as well. Having sung for more than half of her life\, Ashley has been known to sing on stages and platforms of all kinds. From various community events to touring with the Legendary Stevie Wonder\, God has opened many doors for Ashley to share her gifts with the world but her hearts delight is in honoring and adoring The Father in communion and in song. \n Jerry Johnson & The Voices of the QC gospel choir made their debut at the 2023 Rhythm on the River. Since then\, they have headlined Redstone Room concerts\, performed on the Adler Theatre stage\, and more. The powerful and passionate voices bring to life stirring renditions of both classic and contemporary gospel sounds with powerhouse vocals and some of the area’s top players in the band. You won’t want to miss this inspirational and moving performance! \nThe Voices are a Chicago-based band offering an exhilarating “Tribute to Motown”. They offer an unforgettable experience as they capture the essence of the harmony\, choreography\, and stylish wardrobes that defined that great era. The Voices are also known for their soulful renditions of classic R&B hits from legendary artists such as The O’Jays\, Stylistics\, Whispers\, and Spinners. The Voices provide audiences all over the country with outstanding vocal interpretations and well-choreographed dance routines all backed by a band of world-class musicians.
