SUMMARY:Songs & Stories with Alicia Michilli\, Angela Meyer\, & David G Smith
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a candlelight evening of “Songs & Stories” & experience the magic of a listening room event unlike any other.\n\n\nEnjoy the Redstone Room like never before! (Songs & Stories – is a respectful listening event inspired by the likes of The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville\, TN). \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nAlicia Michilli | America’s Got Talent – Semi Finalist\, Toured with Taj Mahal & Keb Mo \nAlicia Michilli is an R&B/Soul artist from Detroit\, Michigan. Most widely recognized as a semi finalist on the national television show\, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT\, this Nashville transplant was raised on the sounds of Motown. Detroit’s influence on her soulful\, powerful vocals have gained Alicia the support\, and admiration of many fellow musicians and songwriters. Their support has lead her to performing alongside artists Nelly and Kehlani at Nick Cannon Rocks Times Square benefitting St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital\, and opening for Andra Day on her Cheers to the Fall\, tour. Alicia most recently had the honor of opening and singing background vocals for\, TajMo\, the GRAMMY award winning duo Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’.  Her latest single “Crazy” can be found on iTunes\, Spotify\, and CD Baby – along with her self-titled EP. SUMMARY:NOLA Jazz Band in the RME Courtyard (FREE!)
DESCRIPTION:Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Society\, and River Music Experience present a FREE performance from NOLA Jazz Band in the RME Courtyard!\n\n\nFrom their debut in The Basement of The Des Moines Social Club in March 2015\, the NOLA Jazz Band has been in demand across the greater Midwest. They have also played numerous festivals across Iowa and the Midwest\, and are highly sought after for larger private events in the Des Moines area. The band also continues to build their reputation regionally and across the U.S. \nBand members have shared the stage with jazz greats and have been inducted into the Iowa Jazz and Rock & Roll Halls of Fame. They have also played at well-known Jazz clubs such as Spotted Cat in New Orleans and the Iridium and Smalls in New York City. Recent musical groups and artists the band has played with include: \n Davina & the Vagabonds (Minneapolis) \n Bria Skonberg – rising star jazz trumpet player and singer (New York City) \n Marla Dixon and The Shotgun Jazz Band (New Orleans) \n Dom Flemons – bluegrass/roots/Americana artist\, formerly of the Carolina Chocolate Drops \nAll band members have a common love for the “feel” of both traditional and current New Orleans based music – real\, gutsy\, raw\, heartfelt\, and entertaining. The band truly enjoys playing this fun music together and sees their audiences as part of their “family living room experience” for each performance. \nThe NOLA Jazz Band loves to expose audiences to this traditional jazz music\, its history\, and emotion. One of the best compliments we’ve received from a number of audience members is “I don’t find myself liking jazz – however I LOVE whatever it is that you play!” Yes we’ve actually heard that same quote many times and it warms our hearts to know people truly enjoy our playing. Just as traditional jazz was built on collaboration and diversity so is our band. The eight members of the band are represented by five generations ranging from their early 20s to mid-60s – each with their own unique experiences and musical talents. \nThe Band released their first album in March\, 2016 – NOLA Jazz Band Vol. 1 “Genesis – Live from the ARK”. CD’s are available at shows\, online at iTunes and CD Baby as well as streaming on Spotify. Their second CD “NOLA Jazz Band – Fat Tuesday LIVE” will be coming out in fall 2018. \n \n Show: 6pm \nOpening Act: The Bix Youth Band \nAge Restriction: All Ages \nWeb: https://www.nolajazzband.org/ \nGenre: Jazz \nTickets: FREE

SUMMARY:All Sweat Original Series: Karl Beatty\, Angela Meyer\, Michael Moncada
DESCRIPTION:An All Sweat Original Concert featuring Angela Meyer\, Michael Moncada\, and Karl Beatty.\n\n\nThe All Sweat Original Series is a curated event to showcase Quad City artists in a way you’ve never seen them before. Unlike a standard concert this is an intimate moment for you to truly connect with these musicians and their art. Local songwriters are paired up with top notch QC musicians to act as their own personal backing band\, complete with all the fun and community that the Quad Cities as come to know as an All Sweat Productions show. \nThis month’s songwriters are: \nKarl Beatty \nKarl hosts an open mic Tuesdays at Pub 1848 in Downtown Moline and also plays in an acoustic duo and more called Karl & Ko Acoustic Awesome Sauce. \n—- \nAngela Meyer \nAngela Meyer was raised in rural Iowa by a family centered around country music. Her new album\, “Legions & Legends” is a collection of 10 stories that pay homage to the Midwestern way of life. Often cyclical\, this journey is paved by ancestral footsteps and lit by neon signs. Along the way\, we trip over the roots of our family trees\, finding routine in bad habits\, falling in love and setting the tone for future generations. At times\, we resent the places we come from\, but we never leave- they built us a legacy. \nAngela pulls in the crowd with a sweet voice and brutal honesty. She knows what it’s like to be in the audience\, her earliest memories taking her back to being a child dancing around a smoky beer tent at the Iowa State Fair while her mama sang on stage. Even before she could talk\, Angela was singing along with the radio and introduced to her musical heroes through her grandparents’ record player in their Iowa farmhouse. At 10 years old\, they gave her a guitar for Christmas\, but it was so large she had to lay it across her lap to learn how to play it. She finally revisited the guitar at fifteen\, starting to write her own songs and creating the foundation that has built her dream into a lifelong career. Find her new album “Legions & Legends” anywhere music is bought or streamed. \n—- \nMichael Moncada \n2018 Best New Music Lister\, Top 40 Nationally\, and #1 Regionally with ReverbNation. Michael has earned nominations for KBOE Iowa Country Artist of the Year (2018\, 2019\, 2020) \nMichael has provided Direct Support for such artist as Brett Young\, Casey Donahew\, Jamey Johnson\, Randy Houser\, Tanner Usrey\, Joe Stamm Band\, The Hooten Hollers\, David Allen Coe\, Arlo McKinely\, Brushville\, Alex Williams\, Sunny Sweeney\, The Pork Tornadoes\, & more\, and indirect support to Cody Jinks\, Aaron Lewis\, Whitey Morgan\, Brothers Osborne\, Gary Allen etc to name a few since his start July 2017. \n \nDoors: 6:30pm / Show: 7pm \nTickets: $10 \n \nAll tickets are general admission.
