SUMMARY:Songwriter Sessions with Jeni Grouws\, Kevin Gordon\, David G Smith\, and Eva Kendall
DESCRIPTION:Front Row sustaining members get free admission! If you’re in the Front Row\, email Jesse (jricke@commonchordqc.org) to claim your tickets. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nGenre: Acoustic\, SongwritersDoors: 7:00pm / Show: 8pmTickets: $18 in advance / $20 day of show  \nFeatured Songwriters: Jeni Grouws\, Kevin GordonHost: David G SmithFeatured Young Artist: Eva Kendall \nSeating: All-seated\, intimate\, listening room-style show. Each ticket purchase guarantees a seat.Age Restriction: All Ages (Under 19 must be accompanied by an adult) \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nKevin Gordonkg.kevingordon.netKevin Gordon’s Louisiana is a strange place. It’s a place where restless teens road trip to where the highway dead-ends at the Gulf of Mexico; a place where prisoners who are in for life compete in a rodeo while the town watches; where a character can get lost in the humid afternoon and where religion may not signify hope; and where rivers\, never far away\, carry secrets behind levees. “One of the things I like about it and am mystified by is that what passes for normal in Louisiana would not make the grade elsewhere\,” he says. \nThe kicker? All of these postcards are based on true stories. It’s a place that he’s been exploring for twenty years now\, on the eve of the release of his astonishing new album “Tilt And Shine” on Crowville Media. It is work that has earned him fans like noted author and Elvis Presley biographer Peter Guralnick; New West Records artist Buddy Miller; journalist\, songwriter\, and Country Music Hall of Fame staffer Peter Cooper; Todd Snider; head of the Americana Music Association Jed Hilly; and Lucinda Williams\, with whom Kevin dueted on the song “Down To The Well” (which was featured prominently on an Oxford American compilation). \nBefore you even hear his vivid lyrics\, you start feeling the sound of that ’56 Gibson ES-125 tuned down to open D\, often with the tremolo flowing like a river\, and an unstoppable groove distilled from swamp blues and Sun Records. His MFA from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop allows him to capture it with a degree of precision. As the New York Times put it in its headline of a feature on Kevin\, “A Musician Or A Poet? Yes to Both.” \nKevin sums it up\, “There are so many stories in north Louisiana and it’s a place that nobody pays attention to. For me\, you can feel the arc of time passing there. I’m captivated by the power of strong memories—those films that run continuously in your mind\, if you let ‘em.” With “Tilt and Shine\,” those movies translate into rock n’roll poetry. \n Jeni Grouwswww.facebook.com/jenigrouwsmusic \n \n“It’s been a while since a vocalist gave me the chills. Grouws digs deep and you can’t turn away. She’s a belter with deep rooted soul.” (Martine Ehrenclou/ Rock and Blues Muse) \nJeni Grouws writes roots and Americana music for Avey Grouws Band as well as for her solo project. Working as a songwriter and performer\, Jeni released her solo EP “Scenic Route” in 2008. In 2017\, Jeni co-founded Avey Grouws Band. Avey Grouws Band went on to twice win the Iowa Blues Challenge\, they landed on the Billboard Blues Album charts at #10 and #7 for their two full length albums and the band continues to tour nationwide. Jeni won top honors in the Unsigned Only Songwriting Competition in 2020 and in the 2021 International Songwriting Competition and continues to write for a variety of projects while touring. Jeni has recently accepted a residency in Omaha\, NE where she will be living and working on her own artist solo project from September 2024-May 2025. Grouws continues to tour solo and with Avey Grouws Band. \n“Jeni Grouws is a remarkably demonstrative vocalist\, fully capable of delivering sturdy rockers\, blustery blues\, or…a tender heartfelt ballad.” (Lee Zimmerman/Goldmine Magazine) “Jeni delivers the deep\, smoldering slow blues that will induce both tears and raving applause” (Jim Hynes/ Making a Scene) \nDavid G Smithheydavemusic.comDavid G Smith developed and hosts the Songwriter Sessions series\, inviting top-tier local and touring songwriters to share their songs with the Quad Cities. Having hosted shows at Nashville’s Bluebird Café for over 15 years\, David has created a true listening room experience in the Quad Cities. An internationally acclaimed songwriter\, four of David’s albums and four of his singles have reached #1 nationwide on various US charts\, to include “River Gonna Talk” and “To Be Human”\, from his recent album Witness Trees\, both of which reached #1 on the Radio Guitar One Americana Chart. His last four albums were accepted for Grammy consideration. David “draws you in with his lyrics and keeps you there with his heart.” \nEva KendallEva Kendall is a young woman trying to navigate her busy life and put into words and songs her teenage experiences\, thoughts and feelings. She was immersed into music from an early age by her parents\, grandparents\, family\, friends and local artists throughout the quad city area. You could often find her at a Live at Five concert dancing to the music. Eva first picked up a guitar at the tender age of three\, writing her first songs “Rock and Roll Tree Trop” and “Rock and Roll Doo Dah” on a Minnie Mouse guitar. From there\, she graduated to finding her Mother and Father’s guitars in the basement\, dusting them off\, and then teaching herself how to play open chords\, something quite difficult for a nine year old! At the age of ten\, she got her first electric guitar\, a Fender Squire Stratocaster. \nHer earliest experiences of performing started with the Common Chord blues and rock camps. After her twelfth birthday\, she was recruited and briefly played with an all-girls high school rock cover band. With the help and support of locals like Donovan Gustafson\, Levi Craft\, Lewis Knudsen and others\, and words of encouragement from her childhood role model and hero\, Lissie\, Eva found her first open mic at the Whiskey Stop in East Moline. \nHaving a foundation in blues from the Ellis Kell Blues Camp\, Eva is often described as having an “old soul.” Finding inspiration in classic performers like Stevie Ray Vaughan and The Blues Brothers\, Eva has taught herself how to “jam” with various artists throughout the quad cities. Her taste in music can best be described as eclectic as she also has a deep appreciation for the blues\, classic rock genre\, southern rock\, 90’s alternative\, country\, and also a peppering of today’s contemporary pop like Olivia Rodrigo and P!nk. Eva can be seen throughout the Quad Cities performing solo and with friends at such venues as the Whiskey Stop\, the Farmer’s Market\, Live at Five\, and numerous others. \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COMMON CHORD POLICIES: \nTICKETS: Advance tickets are only available online. Voracious blues energy and ultimate soul power…impassioned vocals and pure inventiveness in his stellar guitar solos.” –Blues Music Magazine \n“Sizzling\, slow-burning\, gritty blues and rock…shimmering\, swampy\, downright funky vibes drenched with Castro’s stinging\, pure and crisp lead runs and fluid\, jet-fueled solos.” –Living Blues \n“Soul-baring\, roadhouse-meets-church\, Memphis guitar licks…gritty voice…Southern colors and rootsy textures.” –Washington Post \nThroughout his long\, constantly evolving career\, guitarist\, singer and songwriter Tommy Castro has always remained true to himself while exploring\, growing and creating new music\, and he has taken his thousands of devoted fans right along with him. Since his solo debut in 1994\, he’s made 16 albums—the last seven for Alligator—each its own unique chapter in the book of Tommy Castro. Ranging from horn-fueled R&B to piping hot blues to fiery\, stripped-down rock ‘n’ roll\, each release is solidly built upon Castro’s unshakable musical foundation—a dynamic mix of 1960s-influenced guitar-fueled blues\, testifying Memphis-soaked blue-eyed soul and Latin-tinged East San Jose funk\, all driven by Castro’s grab-you-by-the-collar vocals and passionate guitar work. Blues Revue declared\, “Tommy Castro can do no wrong.” \nFor Castro’s new album\, a roots music odyssey entitled Tommy Castro Presents A Bluesman Came To Town\, he tells a timeless story. This special project was composed by Castro along with Grammy Award-winning producer Tom Hambridge. Through its 13 songs\, A Bluesman Came To Town tells the tale of a young man working on his family farm who gets bitten by the blues bug. He masters the guitar and heads out on the road seeking fame and fortune\, only to find what he’s left behind is the treasure he’s been looking for. Each memorable song—from the blistering title track to the pleading Child Don’t Go to the hopeful I Caught A Break to the emotional Blues Prisoner—stands on its own\, as well as contributing to the larger story. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COMMON CHORD POLICIES: \nTICKETS: Advance tickets are only available online. He’s a great singer\, great guitar player and there’s no way you could miss his work as a songwriter.” – Ricky Skaggs \nJim Lauderdale has been a vital part of the country music ecosystem since 1991\, when he released his debut album and began penning songs for an impressively long roster of country music greats. “When I was a teenager wanting to be a bluegrass banjo player\, I never would have imagined that I would get to work with people like Ralph Stanley\, Robert Hunter\, Loretta Lynn\, George Jones\, Emmylou Harris\, Elvis Costello\, Lucinda Williams and John Oates \,” he muses. \nHe has won two Grammys\, released 34 full-length albums\, and taken home the Americana Music Association’s coveted Wagonmaster Award. But forthcoming album Game Changer is convincing evidence that the North Carolina native is only continuing to hone his craft. \nOperating under his own label\, Sky Crunch Records\, for the first time since 2016\, Lauderdale recorded Game Changer at the renowned Blackbird Studios in Nashville\, co-producing the release with Jay Weaver and pulling from songs he’d written over the last several years. \nFrom rollicking guitar riffs on “That Kind of Life (That Kind of Day)” to the slow\, sweet harmonies of “I’ll Keep My Heart Open For You\,” Game Changer shows off Lauderdale’s ingenuity as a singer\, songwriter\, and producer—while reestablishing him as one of Americana’s most steadfast champions. “Country music is constantly evolving\, but I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for steel guitar and a Telecaster\,” he says. “I have done my job on this record if people who love classic country feel like they can put it on\, or have it in their collection\, and it would fit right in.” \nRespecting the past doesn’t mean he’s not breaking new ground. “We’re All We’ve Got\,” a co-write with Mary Gauthier and Jaimee Harris\, offers a timely message about healing torn relationships at home and across the world. And “Friends Again\,” a grinning number about rekindling a friendship\, is fresh and forward-looking. At every turn\, Lauderdale’s collaborative spirit and genuine love for the creative process reveal themselves in thoughtful\, well-crafted songs sure to stand the test of time. “When everything works right\, it’s just magical to be able to hear them back\,” he says. “You feel\, at least for those three-and-a-half minutes\, like life makes sense.” \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COMMON CHORD POLICIES: \nTICKETS: Advance tickets are only available online. SUMMARY:The Travelin' McCourys
DESCRIPTION:Genre: BluegrassRecommended If You Like: Del McCoury Band\, Leftover Salmon\, Yonder Mountain String Band\, Railroad Earth \nDoors: 7:00pm / Show: 8:00pmTickets: $40 in advance / $50 at the door \nSeating: General admission. No guaranteed seating. Table reservations available.Age Restriction: All Ages (Under 19 must be accompanied by an adult) \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nThe Travelin’ McCourysFrom a source deep\, abundant\, and pure the river flows. It’s there on the map\, marking place and time. Yet\, the river changes as it remains a constant\, carving away at the edges\, making new pathways\, gaining strength as it progresses forward. The Travelin’ McCourys are that river. \nThe McCoury brothers- Ronnie (mandolin) and Rob (banjo) – were born into the bluegrass tradition. Talk about a source abundant and pure: their father\, Del\, is among the most influential and successful musicians in the history of the genre. Years on the road with Dad in the Del McCoury Band honed their knife-edge chops\, and encouraged the duo to imagine how traditional bluegrass could cut innovative pathways into 21st century music. \nWith fiddler Jason Carter\, bassist Alan Bartram\, and latest recruit Cody Kilby on guitar\, they assembled a group that could take what they had in their DNA\, take what traditions they learned and heard\, and push the music forward. In fact\, the band became the only group to have each of its members recognized with an International Bluegrass Music Association Award for their instrument at least once. There were peers\, too\, that could see bluegrass as both historic and progressive. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Allman Brothers Band\, improv-rock kings Phish\, and jamband contemporary Keller Williams were just a few that formed a mutual admiration society with the ensemble. \nThe band played the Allman’s Wanee Festival\, and guitarist Warren Haynes’ Christmas jam- an annual holiday homecoming of Southern music. An early-years jam with the Lee Boys was hailed by many as the highlight of the evening\, and with the video catching fire online\, earned a legion of new\, young fans of their supercharged combination of sacred steel\, R&B\, and bluegrass. There were unforgettable collaborations with country smash Dierks Bentley\, and onstage magic\, jamming with titans String Cheese Incident and Phish\, cutting an album with Keller (Pick)\, and creating the Grateful Ball- a tribute concert-turned-tour bridging bluegrass with the iconic music of the Grateful Dead. \nTheir concerts became can’t-miss events\, whether headlining historic venues or as festival favorites\, drawing the love and respect of a growing fanbase craving their eclectic repertoire. At the 2016 edition of DelFest\, an annual gathering of the genre’s best aptly named for the McCoury patriarch\, the band delivered the take-away highlight. Rolling Stone called it “a sublime combination of rock and bluegrass\, contemporary and classic\, old and young. The best set of the festival…” The river was going new places\, getting stronger. It was time to re-draw the map. \nSo arrives the long-awaited\, self-titled debut album from the quintet. A brilliantly executed set overflowing with inventive style\, stellar musicianship\, and\, of course\, plenty of burnin’ grass\, the 14-song collection is a true culmination of their decades-long journey. From the headwaters of Bill Monroe and the waves of Jerry Garcia to a sound both rooted and revolutionary\, soulful and transcending that belongs only to the Travelin’ McCourys. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COMMON CHORD POLICIES: \nTICKETS: Advance tickets are only available online. Since their inception in 1976 in Queens\, New York\, and their sweaty\, boozy gestation at legendary venues such as CBGB\, Max’s Kansas City\, and the storied Club 57— recently feted at the Museum of Modern Art\, where their proto-video underground film “Soul City” was unspooled for art stars\, glitterati\, and a raft of punk rockers who managed to get past the front gate — they have perpetrated their proprietary brand of SUPER ROCK\, a frenetic amalgam of garage punk and soul\, punctuated by the big beat and unleashed with the spectacular show business majesty which has kept them on the road for over forty years\, adored by audiences whose love for them borders on religious fervor.  \nIt’s Getting Late (…and More Songs About Werewolves) is a smash that could have dropped at any point in their epic career — it is an outburst\, and a celebration of the SUPER ROCK sound.  Unlike their contemporaries\, they have not dialed down the tempos to compensate for osteoporosis\, they have not lost anything on their fastball\, and continue to throw it for strikes. The hardest working band in garage rock has never sounded better\, and now you see why they’ve been your favorite band’s favorite band for decades. \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COMMON CHORD POLICIES: \nTICKETS: Advance tickets are only available online. On record – including their latest offering\, 2023’s Lead and Iron\, released via Dark Shadow Recording – the band explores their collective life experiences through songwriting and intricate instrumentation. While bluegrass is the undeniable foundation of the Prowlers’ music\, the band bends and squeezes the traditional form into a keenly developed sound all their own. \nWorking with the U.S. State Department and under their own nonprofit\, Bluegrass Ambassadors\, the Prowlers have toured over 25 countries across the globe. The group’s experiences with people and musicians across Africa\, Asia\, Europe\, and the Middle East have shaped the band’s worldview and broadened the group’s direction towards bridging cultural gaps with music\, educational programs\, and workshops. Using traditional American music as a foundation\, connecting folk music\, customs\, and history the world over\, the Prowlers incorporate international elements into their already robust repertoire of unique traditional American music. \nBluegrass AmbassadorsWeb: www.bluegrassambassadors.orgFacebook: www.facebook.com/bluegrassambassadorsInstagram: www.instagram.com/bluegrassambassadors \nWhether playing live or presenting seminars\, wherever they are\, the Henhouse Prowlers find and spread the commonality we share as human beings through the universal language of music. \nSTILL SHINEFormed in the summer of 2014\, Still Shine is a group of like-minded\, seasoned musicians blending acoustic roots and progressive bluegrass. SUMMARY:Anthony Gomes
DESCRIPTION:Genre: Blues / Blues RockDoors: 7:00pm / Show: 8pmTickets: $28 in advance / $30 at the door \nSeating: General admission. No guaranteed seating. Table reservations available.Age Restriction: All Ages (Under 19 must be accompanied by an adult) \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nABOUT THE ARTIST \nWith a guitar slung over his shoulder and the amps turned up full tilt\, Anthony Gomes electrifies blues and rock at a 21st century crossroads of his own. The Canadian vocalist\, guitarist\, songwriter and producer wails with all the force of a hurricane in the Mississippi Delta and enough fret-burning fireworks to leave his strings in flames. Over the years\, he’s toppled the Billboard Blues Chart at #1\, earned the endorsement of legends such as B.B. King\, tallied tens of millions of streams\, and packed shows on multiple continents. In 2022\, he makes his Rat Pak Records debut with High Voltage Blues\, amplifying his soul and spirit like never before. \n“I’ve learned how to embrace my voice as a guitarist and as a singer\,” he states. “I understand who I am\, and I use my strengths to my advantage. I have a blues soul and a rock ‘n’ roll heart. I love to jump back and forth between both with a modern day approach. When I play rock\, it’s got a little more dust to it. I just try to be the best me I can be. So\, I’m the best Anthony Gomes impersonator out there\,” he grins. \nBorn and raised in Toronto\, Ontario\, he fell in love with music as a kid\, listening to everyone from Muddy Waters and Jimi Hendrix to Jeff Beck and Eddie Van Halen. At 14 years old\, Anthony gravitated to the guitar and his relationship with the instrument was born. After grinding it out\, his chops caught the attention of B.B. King’s bus driver at a jam night. Blown away\, the driver introduced him to B.B. who invited him to open up a string of tour dates in 2005. Gaining invaluable knowledge from “The King\,” he went on to share the stage with the likes of Buddy Guy\, Robert Plant\, Joe Bonamassa\, Heart\, Sammy Hagar\, Kenny Wayne Shepherd\, and more. Along the way\, his concert attendees have included Academy® Award winner Morgan Freeman\, John Goodman\, and Vince Vaughn as well as Eric Clapton\, to name a few. \n2018’s Peace\, Love & Loud Guitars vaulted to #1 on the iTunes Top Blues Albums Chart and #1 on Amazon Music’s New Release Blues Chart. Meanwhile\, Guitar World readers voted him one of “The 30 Best Blues Guitarists in the World Today” in 2019\, and the publication noted\, “Gomes is another power player who is at his best when his gear is in the scorched earth between blues and rock.” After seven consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart\, Containment Blues marked his second #1 on the respective chart in 2020. \nDuring 2021\, he signed to Rat Pak Records and assembled High Voltage Blues\, re-recording fan favorites from previous releases and cutting three new tunes. On five tracks\, Ray Luzier of Korn and Billy Sheehan [Mr. Big\, David Lee Roth\, The Winery Dogs] handled drums and bass\, respectively. Co-produced by Anthony and Peter Carson\, sessions went down in St. Louis and Nashville. \n“We had a lot of fun rocking these songs up\,” he observes. “As an artist\, it was great to circle back to some of my past work and look at it from a different perspective. Billy and Ray really pushed the way I play guitar\, and they added a whole new element with a little insanity. When people ask me what I sound like\, I say\, ‘If B.B. King was in AC/DC\, that’s what it would be’. That’s High Voltage Blues in a nutshell.” \nIn the end\, Anthony Gomes is just the kind of guitar hero we need for today. \n“I’m either the last of a dying breed or the start of a new revolution\,” he smiles. “I still believe in a world of guitar heroes. I strive for a world where you don’t have to be 19 years old to sell a lot of records and tickets and to make a statement. I’m one of those people who doesn’t think rock\, or the blues is dead. I’m looking for fresh ways to bring them together. I’m at the table rolling the dice all in the name of blues and rock ‘n’ roll. I know there’s never been a more exciting time for music\, and I’m here for the journey.” \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COMMON CHORD POLICIES: \nTICKETS: Advance tickets are only available online. Long time friends and collaborators\, Michael and Aaron were looking for new avenues of musical creation when Michael reached out to share a concept for a new Electronic Duo. They got together to check it out and it worked! It worked very\, very well. The musical visions synchronized effortlessly\, and Snakes and Stars was born. \nThe Sound: Snakes and Stars consists of two of live music’s top drummers exploring various idioms of electronic and dance music in a live\, improvisational format. While DJs play previously recorded tracks\, Snakes and Stars plays everything live and makes up the songs as they go. Relying on a combined 60 years of live music experience\, Travis and Johnston utilize vocals\, synthesizers\, electronic pads and triggers\, drum kit\, guitar\, bass and samples to create a one-of-a-kind musical experience in the moment. \nEvery show is a unique experience\, a playful interaction between the two artists\, audience and the surrounding energy they collectively interpret to guide the music. No two shows will ever be the same.  The band finds its inspiration in deep electronic roots from minimal\, trance\, techno and house and downtempo along with contemporary electronic stylings like trap and dubstep. Snakes and Stars is an adventurous leap forward in today’s dance music scene mixing improvisation with the most modern idioms of electronic dance music. \nThe Tripp Brothers \nWeb: www.thetrippbrothers.comFacebook: www.facebook.com/thetrippbrothersInstagram: www.instagram.com/trippbrothers \nJimmy and Sean Tripp are two Midwestern horn players that live the funk. Forging the sounds of saxophone and trombone\, fused with heavy bass music\, their tones reverberate shockwaves throughout the crowd. Their ability to keep the groove makes dancing inevitable. Illuminating your soul with exploding horn hits\, funky solos\, and wicked scratching rarely seen in today’s live performances\, makes these two a must-see act! \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COMMON CHORD POLICIES: \nTICKETS: Advance tickets are only available online. Richard Roberts Jr. answered this question by buying himself a retirement gift. He bought a new guitar. A very nice guitar. Then\, with his newfound time\, he began to play that guitar. He also started writing songs\, which he had done in earlier years\, but\, hey\, life happens and he stopped. However\, now\, he discovered a new passion for songwriting\, singing and recording. So\, he did. \nLiving in Davenport\, Iowa for over 30 years\, his songs were inspired by the beautiful area where he lives as well has past life experiences. A Dad\, Grandfather and now a songwriter\, Richard shares his music through recording and now performing in the community that he loves. His songs are inspired by his early musical influences that includes James Taylor; Crosby\, Stills\, Nash and Young; Joni Mitchell\, The Kingston Trio; Bob Dylan\, Emmy Lou Harris and others. \nRichard has published three albums: The Seventy Project (Released the year he turned 70); Notes From Along the River; and his latest\, Old Church Road. \nKatie Dahlwww.katiedahlmusic.com \n“Katie Dahl’s songs aren’t just melodies and words\, they’re journeys that are firmly grounded in a sense of place—beautiful\, real landscapes that help you feel places that you may have never been before. That’s the very best kind of songwriting.”-Dar Williams \nClear-eyed and tough-minded\, songwriter/playwright Katie Dahl is known for her smart songs\, wry wit\, and wise spirit. A small-town celebrity on the Wisconsin peninsula where her family has lived for 175 years\, Katie is also an internationally touring\, radio-charting artist who “delivers razor-sharp lyrics with a hearty\, soulful voice” (American Songwriter). In live shows that are both courageously honest and devilishly funny\, Katie dives deep into questions of land and love\, family and body image\, grief and joy. “In unsettled times\,” says Peter Mulvey\, “Katie Dahl brings us a grounded spirit.” \n David G Smithwww.davidgsmithmusic.com \nDavid G Smith developed and hosts the Songwriter Sessions series\, inviting top-tier local and touring songwriters to share their songs with the Quad Cities. David “draws you in with his lyrics and keeps you there with his heart.” \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COMMON CHORD POLICIES: \nTICKETS: Advance tickets are only available online. SUMMARY:Rig Time! Metal Christmas
DESCRIPTION:Rig Time! – Metal Christmas \nGenre: Metal \nDoors: 6:00pm / Show: 6:30pmTickets: $10 in advance / $12 at the door \nSeating: General admission. No guaranteed seating. Table reservations available.Age Restriction: All Ages (Under 19 must be accompanied by an adult) \nHeadliner: Rig Time!Support: Neck Wrung\, Empty Graves\, Guilty of Treason\, Dreamthief\, Braver Than I \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nRIG TIME!“…offers relentless rhythms with industrial precision as well as a smart beat changing sensibility” and “…guitar is mean\, saturated and dogmatically singular.”\, “…for fans of earlier\, angrier Godflesh.” – Outburn Magazine  \n “Puncturing their blend of sludge and hardcore – with a tight embrace on powerviolence – the band kicks fast and dirgy tones\, manifesting unbridled hatred.” – New Noise Magazine \nTo be “Undeniable” is the objective and axiom that RIG TIME! irrefutably has avowed since their inception. Formed in Wisconsin\, they quickly began touring relentlessly\, performing coast to coast in 45 states and counting\, executing a fierce live performance with precise and fearless transitions\, always at astonishingly vulgar decibels. These two performers exhibit the mass of a full band aura as they implement a complete Vocal/Guitar/Bass/Drums/Synth performance without backing tracks\, never suppressing their magnitude of raw energy and emotion through sincere lyrics and colossal stage presence. \nBoldly infusing primal ferocity and solid reverence for groove\, RIG TIME!’s self-described “Wisconsin Heavy” sound draws influence from hardcore\, doom\, nu metal and other models of extreme music. Their dedication to innovation\, carving their profoundly honest and unparalleled contribution to the heavy music world\, is imperative. Their latest effort “REBORN”  was released on July 29\, 2022 via State Of Mind Recordings as the highly anticipated follow-up to 2017’s colossal full length “WAR” released on Innerstrength Records. The band is currently working on their next full length album with a full promise to deliver above and beyond all expectations that these two can achieve sonically and lyrically. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COMMON CHORD POLICIES: \nTICKETS: Advance tickets are only available online. Trading in the existential dread permeating his previous work for unbridled joy and self-acceptance\, Son Little transmutes the chronic pain of self-doubt into a beautiful and freeing opus about overcoming generational trauma. Hailed by Afropunk as “a stunning statement of purpose\,” Like Neptune decorates the altar of the primordial blues and elevating the labor of healing to high art. “I’ve always felt as though I was making music because I had to\, something inside compelled me. Fueled me\,” Little shared. “This the first time in a long time I’m making music for the pure joy of creating.” \nSon Little and his band\, comprised of Little on vocals/guitar\, Steve McKie (drums)\, and DeShawn Alexander (keys/bass)\, will tour North America for the first time support of Like Neptune through November and December. \nWolfskill & The WildWeb: www.wolfskillandthewild.comFacebook: www.facebook.com/wolfskillandthewildInstagram: www.instagram.com/wolfskillandthewildYouTube: www.youtube.com/@wolfskillthewildTikTok: www.tiktok.com/@wolfskillandthewild \nAn authentic fusion of a daring folk/singer-songwriter and an unbound classical virtuoso. Midwestern grown\, Iowa-native folk-duo. \nA classically-trained violinist\, and a songwriting troubadour\, Wolfskill & The Wild are a Midwest-grown\, Iowan native folk-duo\, delivering an authentic and bold musical fusion that is both feral & fierce. \nOnce described as\, “a smooth & silky pour” -Wolfskill & The Wild blend alternative folk\, contemporary strings\, and experimental ambience that pays homage to their Driftless Area roots. \nTrailblazing their own path\, Wolfskill & The Wild has performed on stage in support of acts including: The Ballroom Thieves\, The Arcadian Wild\, Chicago Farmer\, and more. \n  \nKyah BratzKyah\, a singer songwriter from the Midwest\, combines her old soul and creative lyricism into emotion-evoking songs. Her smooth\, powerful vocals are showcased in her first album. This newest collection of music includes some of Kyah’s very first songs to her most recent exploring heavier topics such as love\, faith\, and relationships. Inspired by growing up in a family who hosted house concerts and invited in touring musicians\, she hopes to inspire others to find their creative outlet and passion in music as well. \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COMMON CHORD POLICIES: \nTICKETS: Advance tickets are only available online.
