SUMMARY:Alternating Currents: Hembree
DESCRIPTION:Genre: AlternativeRecommended If You Like: Talking Heads\, Phoenix\, FoalsHometown: Los Angeles\, CA\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nUpon releasing their debut album “House on Fire” in 2019\, Hembree quickly made a name for themselves in the indie rock world. Garnering the attention of NPR\, Rolling Stone\, Billboard and landing songs in Netflix shows and Apple commercials\, the band developed a reputation for their own brand of infectious and danceable rock. They toured extensively until hunkering down to record 2022’s “It’s a Dream!”. The record received high praise from tastemakers like Line Of Best Fit as an incredibly ambitious and creative album that pushed the band’s previous boundaries.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nOriginally from Kansas City\, the now Los Angeles based outfit doesn’t stray away from drawing influence from both homes. It’s a pairing that helps Hembree create their own eclectic version of rock n’ roll. Their sound is nostalgic and modern all at once and it has landed them on festival stages all over the country and bills with indie rock legends\, Phoenix\, and rock n’ roll icon\, Elvis Costello. Lead singer\, Isaac Flynn\, describes their new album “Better Days” as the record Hembree fell in love with being a band again. There is an immense amount of joy and heart that went into these songs. “Better Days” is out now.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nABOUT ALTERNATING CURRENTS \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nFounded in 2017 by the Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP)\, Alternating Currents is a free\, multi-day festival powered by DDP in collaboration with placemaking partners Downtown Bettendorf Organization and Rock Island Downtown Alliance. SUMMARY:Alternating Currents: Jon Stickley Trio
DESCRIPTION:Genre: Progressive BluegrassRecommended If You Like: Bela Fleck\, Tony RiceHometown: Asheville\, NC\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nBoundary-breaking and genre-defying are handy terms to use in describing musical artists\, but while they can lend a certain cachet to a project\, music that really eludes easy description is actually pretty rare. Still\, if such terms can be applied to any group at all\, the Jon Stickley Trio is at the head of the line for such treatment. For while the music made by guitarist Stickley\, violinist Lyndsay Pruett and percussionist Hunter Deacon contains innumerable influences that dart in and out of a listener’s ear\, its all-instrumental essence is truly unique.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nABOUT ALTERNATING CURRENTS \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nFounded in 2017 by the Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP)\, Alternating Currents is a free\, multi-day festival powered by DDP in collaboration with placemaking partners Downtown Bettendorf Organization and Rock Island Downtown Alliance.
