This is a crucial and exciting moment for the Bix Society, setting the stage for another 55 years (and more!) of preserving and celebrating the music and legacy of Bix Beiderbecke.
But no festival is without its challenges. In recent years, we have seen many jazz festivals across the country permanently cease operations. We are committed to ensuring that the Bix Jazz Festival has a strong future, but we need your help to do it!
Ticket sales make up for less than 1/3rd of the cost of the Festival, yet we strive to keep tickets as affordable as possible. That’s why we rely on memberships and donations to continue providing the music you’ve enjoyed at the level of quality you expect. Each year, we must raise $50,000 to maintain the Festival at its current level.

The Steve Trainor Fund – A Lasting Legacy
While your direct support of this year’s Festival is crucial, we’re thinking about the future.
We have partnered with generous donors to create The Steve Trainor Fund, a seed endowment with the ultimate purpose of funding the Festival and Youth Band in perpetuity. Gifts to this fund will remain permanently endowed, with the investment proceeds providing a steady source of funding for the Festival.
The fund is named in honor of past president Steve Trainor, who dedicated countless hours leading the Festival and Bix Society.
By making an additional gift to the Steve Trainor Fund, who are helping us to build a permanent, lasting legacy for Bix’s music and the Bix Jazz Festival.
