Children learning music at the River Music Experience

Camps

Music helps kids succeed! Through musical performance and collaboration, our students develop skills in teamwork, public speaking, creative thinking, and confidence.

In our Kidstock and Winter Blues music camps, young musicians ages 8-18 join with their peers to participate in workshops lead by professional musicians, form a band with fellow campers, and put on a performance in the Redstone Room for their friends and family.

Common Chord’s Kidstock Summer Music Camp let’s kids be rock stars!

The camps gives young musicians, ages 8-18, the opportunity to participate in workshops lead by professional musicians, form a band with fellow campers, and put on a performance in Common Chord’s Redstone Room for their friends and family. Students learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, confidence, and self-expression – all while doing something they love.

It’s recomended that participants have some beginner understanding of their instrument before attending. This is an opportunity to learn about performance and working with other musicians – most instruction is done in a group format.

Sessions are 12PM-5PM Monday through Friday with a concert in the Redstone Room at 7pm on Friday night.

Learn about the roots of American music… the Blues!

Every year between Christmas and New Years Eve, students learn the forms, styles, and history of one of America’s first contributions to the world of music. Participants will be put in a group and spend the week learning and practicing blues songs along with workshops lead by local blues musicians. At the end of the week, they’ll perform for their friends and family in a concert in the Redstone Room.

It’s suggested that musicians already have some experience on their instrument before attending.

Sessions are 12PM-5PM Monday through Friday with a concert in the Redstone Room at 7pm on Friday night.
