Meet Your Host, Ryan McCreddan, of I Rock 93.5 Radio

Ryan is the Operations Manager for Townsquare Media in the Quad Cities. What does that mean? Nobody is really sure.

Ryan is originally from northern Wisconsin but lived in Texas for 13 years prior to moving to the Quad Cities in 2019.  So Ryan still thinks the cold sucks.

Ryan came to the Quad Cities and told the fellas at corporate the Quad Cities needed a hard rock station.  Shockingly they said OK.  Go for it.

So on August 30, 2019, I-Rock 93.5 brought back the hard rock the Quad Cities was missing.

You can listen to the ramblings of a madman every day from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.  That’s when Ryan talks about the latest concerts and I-Rock 93.5 events that you’ll always see him at.  Ryan will also bribe you daily with contests and 54-minute shut-up and rock blocks while you work.

You can reach Ryan on all the I-Rock 93.5 social media accounts cause he is the only guy there.

Alborn | Formed in 2016, Northern Illinois based alternative metal band Alborn consists of Justin Taylor [guitar/lead vocals], Alex Raser [Drums/vocals], Zame Lewis [bass] and Nate Guske [guitar/vocals]. Their sound has been compared to Deftones or a heavier version of Alice in Chains. But, make no mistake, Alborn has created something unique, hard and melodic.

Alborn released their debut EP, “Impairative” in 2020. Follow up singles “Full Circle”, “Cause to Create” and “Hindsight” took them through 2021 and had initial success including Spotify’s “Rock Hard” playlist, SiriusXM Octane, Music Choice as well as terrestrial radio rotation.

The band went on to play every live show they could, having huge success in sharing stages with the likes of Shinedown, Sevendust, Buckcherry, Adelitas Way, Badflower, Gemini Syndrome, Plush and others.
Entering 2022, the band was invited to again join Sevendust and Plush on a run of New Year’s shows in the southeast. “It was everything we could have hoped for. Sevendust’s fanbase are true die-hards and they travel all over to see the shows, so to be welcomed in by them, especially in 7D’s hometown, on NYE was surreal.” – Justin Taylor.

To round out 2022, the band buckled down, did more writing and flew to Las Vegas to work with Chris Collier and James “Fluff” Harley. This dynamic production duo was fresh off working with Korn on their ‘Requiem’ album. There, Alborn recorded 3 songs, ‘Push’, ‘Learn to Live’ and ‘Even Numbers’. These 3 songs are being packaged with a 4th song, ‘Ten Times’ (recorded with Morgan Rose and Jose Urquiza) to form the EP, “Push”, which the band will put out through Pavement Entertainment (Sony / The Orchard) on 2/24/23.

In March 2023, Alborn hit the road for 18 days providing direct support to Powerman 5000 while Alborn’s new single, “Push” started at radio. The single has been a big hit, even charting on Billboard’s Top 40 for Mainstream Rock.

Discrepancies | the Rap/Rock band out of St. Louis, have formed an undeniably powerful and fresh sound. Comprised of Garrett Weakley (Bass), Brandon Bollinger (Guitar/Vocals), Marc Lyle (Drums), Antonio Metcalf (Vocals), and Addison Bracher (Guitar/Vocals), the band has a unique take on Rap/Rock incorporating heavy riffs, soaring choruses, and breakdowns with deep lyricism and real hip hop elements.

In January 2018, Discrepancies signed to InVogue Records. They released “The Awakening” in March of 2018 and had over a million streams in the first week. The album had a strong release with the single “Not Alone” having a massive impact with the audience. “The Awakening” landed on Billboard charts peaking at #32 Alt New Artist and #108 Top New Artist and was featured in Alternative Press, Metal Injection, and more. In summer of 2018 the band played the Final Vans Warped Tour and followed it up with multiple short tours throughout the USA as well as Rock USA the following year.

In 2020 Discrepancies geared up for another album release only for the industry to shut down around the global pandemic. In January of 2020, the band dropped their #1 single “Control” which still is the fastest growing single for the band and has since reached north of 3.5 million streams on Spotify alone. The band dropped 4 more singles in support of the album, with hopes of the pandemic subsiding. “The Rise” released in October of 2020, and was a big stepping stone for the band in terms of musical growth and development as a second LP.

Already in 2023, the band has been touring heavily and is gearing up for their newest EP release with Invogue Records. They recorded the newest EP with Andrew Wade, and feel it’s some of their strongest material to date. Their single “Recovery” is building at Rock Radio as well as on the Streaming platforms. Discrepancies have already played this year with Wolves At The Gate, Catch Your Breath & Until I Wake. They have an upcoming tour with and then Outline In Color & VRSTY as well. They are gearing up for a busy touring schedule, and have their sights set on taking their music to as many people as possible.

Arson City | Is a 5 piece rock band based out of Omaha, NE that formed in late July of 2013 and has started out with some true fire right out of the gate.  Arson City is not just a musical project…. It is an all out concept and vision, with each member of the band portraying their own character within the fictional landscape of Arson City, as well as the supporters of the project, known as the “Citizens”.  The Mayor, The Doctor, The Dealer, The Con and The Enforcer makeup the basis of the project, but Arson City is much more than just that.  Filled with violence, greed, corruption, and a constant struggle within itself to maintain hope for those have none…. Each performance builds strength to those who need it, and revenge for those seeking it.

Five AM | This Illinois based 4 piece isn’t your average pop-punk band. With an insatiable desire to push the limits between rock, hip hop, R&B, and pop; this band unapologetically delivers catchy hooks soaked in liquid cool melodies. Known by their growing fanbase for their fun, energetic live performances; it’s no doubt this band will be landing on your daily playlist for good.
